And studies show that SCS can reduce pain by 50 – 75%.

What is SCS and how can it help me?

What is SCS?

An SCS is a spinal cord stimulator. It is a small device, no bigger than a matchbox, that is designed to target and alleviate stubborn pains that other treatments can’t seem to help.

It targets and blocks pain signals from damaged nerves in the spine. It does this by sending pulses to the damaged nerves so the pain signals don’t reach your brain.

The result? You experience significantly reduced discomfort, regardless of where that pain originates.

SCS Benefits

With SCS, you can get relief from:

  • Chronic body pain
  • The pain of failed surgeries
  • Neuropathy
  • And many other pains that other treatments haven’t touched.

Plus, it’s a safer alternative to opioids, which cause 220+ deaths in the US daily.

I was 2 hours late to my appointment and they worked me in between other patients. I only waited about 10 minutes. As always the staff is very friendly and Dr Patel's practitioner is very sweet and knowledgeable.

I have been going to Dr Patel for many years. She has been amazing with my treatments and explains procedures. She is concerned about your well being and that is something that is appreciated. The other doctors that work with Dr Patel show concern for patients. The office staff are very friendly. When I call I always get a call back, appointments are easy to get. I tell my friends and would recommend Dr Patel to anyone. I thank Dr Patel and her staff.

The service was prompt. The technician spent a lot of time explaining to me what was going to be done so that if I had any questions he could answer them then. The doctor came in and was very pleasant putting me at ease. Procedure was done in a timely manner and she informed me a s she was doing the procedure so I would know exactly what I was going to feel. She was concerned about my pain level and make sure that I was not feeling any discomfort. Overall the procedure went well and they make sure I was feeling well before I was allowed to leave I strongly recommend them. I strongly recommend Dr J and her staff in The spine and pain clinic.

Why do I need a test for SCS?

Everyone who comes in for a spinal cord stimulator gets a test. The test is to ensure that the device resonates with your unique pain profile. We put it in quickly, and you get a week to feel the benefits. If, for any reason, it doesn’t work for your pain, taking it out is just as easy. All that is left is a small bandage, typically on your lower back.

Whether you’re coming in for the SCS placement or removal, there’s no prolonged recovery. You can resume your daily activities almost immediately after leaving our office.
