Dr. Lynne Carr Columbus has
earned a prestigious nomination in the 16th
Annual Florida Medical Business News Golden
Stethoscope Awards in the category of Best
Women’s’ Practice (solo or group). Dr. Columbus
was one of only 5 nominees selected from a statewide
pool of over 50,000 physicians, hospital executives
and medical professionals comprising the state’s
healthcare industry.
An esteemed panel of healthcare
industry leaders from throughout Florida chose Dr.
Columbus. Nominating Committee Members include: Dr.
Dennis Agliano, president, Florida Medical
Association; Wayne NeSmith, president/CEO, Florida
Hospital Association; and Dr. Steven Singer, medical
director, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida.
Nominee selections were based
on rigorous criteria, including demonstrated
economic and financial savvy, their impact on
Florida healthcare industry, improved quality and
cost-efficiency of healthcare delivery, and their
record of accomplishments.
Dr. Lynne Carr Columbus is
currently the President of Gulf Coast Pain
Management, a multidisciplinary pain center. She
attended Vanderbilt University for her undergraduate
training. She obtained her Doctor of Osteopathic
Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic
Medicine, where she stayed to complete her
internship. She did her residency training in
Anesthesiology at Hahnemann University and the
University of Cincinnati. She is a board-certified
Anesthesiologist and Pain Management Specialist.
She serves as the Vice President of the Board of
Directors for the Pinellas County Osteopathic
Medical Society. She is an alternate Trustee for the
Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and serves
on their Medicare Committee.
She is a very active national
speaker for multiple Pharmaceutical companies as
well as Pri-Med Business solutions. She has been
featured in the Wall Street Journal, Physicians
Practice Magazine, Medical Economics Magazine and
other business magazines. She has had multiple
guest appearances with the local news programs
regarding pain related topics. She was recently
featured as the cover story for the May 2005 issue
of Physicians Practice Magazine.
