Joe came to the Tampa Bay area in 1998 after a lifetime spent along the Mississippi river...born in St. Louis, MO raised in Minneapolis, MN and many summers spent in his mother's hometown of New Orleans, LA. Joe has been exposed to Physical therapy his whole life as his mother and sister are both physical therapists. He was accepted into physical therapy school while still in high school. He completed his training at St. Louis University in 1984 and accepted employment with Tulane Medical Center soon thereafter. The teaching hospital gave him an excellent exposure to many types of physical and neurological impairments. In 1986 he moved back to Minneapolis and was employed by Wayzata Physical Therapy, a small multidisciplinary orthopedic practice, eventually attaining ownership status. He and his partners sold this clinic to NovaCare in 1992, practicing under contract until 1997. At the time of the sale (1992), Joe passed his specialty board certification and became a Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS). In 1993, he completed a 2-year residency in Orthopedic Manual Therapy with the Ola Grimsby Institute. He began lecturing about multiple orthopedic topics in the early 90s and by 1997 had started Clinical Rehab Education Seminars (CRES). As of this date, Joe has taught over 150 two to four day seminars in orthopedic manual therapy. After his move to the Tampa Bay area, he passed his credentialing exam and in 2000 became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, one of only approximately 500 therapists worldwide with this designation. He has studied and taught with many master manual therapists including Ola Grimsby, Stanley Paris, Mariano Rocabado, Richard Erhardt, Davis Lamb, Cliff Fowler, Erl Pettman, Brian Mulligan, and Laurie Hartman.
Joe currently resides
in Trinity with his 13 year old son Jackson. He is an
accomplished guitarist/vocalist and plays frequently in Pinellas
County. He has also studied Aikido for the past 6 years and is
an assistant instructor at the Aikido Academy of Martial Arts in
New Port Richey. |
